Woman to Woman: God's Greater Plans & Faithful Courage
This year, Woman to Woman has been looking at Wellness: God’s View.
Carolyn Altman provided a touching message in May titled ‘Challenging Love – trading our Good Plans for His Great Plans’. Often we have good plans for our lives yet God brings hardships along our journey.
Carolyn shared three hardships she has suffered but greatly encouraged us that God’s plans are greater than ours, often changing us and bringing personal development so that we become more like Christ. She used the imagery of our plans being like ice-cream and God’s plans like broccoli – not always what we desire but to our benefit.
Look Up - in Prayer (Philippians 4:6-7, 19)
Look Back - and Trust (Isaiah 41:10)
Look Forward - in Faith. (Psalm 25:4, 12)
On Tuesday, the hall was themed in Australian décor with gum leaves and native animals as we welcomed Morgan, who is currently on home assignment from South Asia.
Morgan shared the stories of three Christian women who faithfully serve God despite persecution, each living in a different country. He bought his guitar along and sang a song relative to each woman. ‘To Live is Christ’, ‘Crystal Tears’ about brokenness - the broken teapot which doesn’t leak but cries crystal tears. ‘Creator God’ written by Jodie* who spent 4 months in a dark prison cell, most likely due to her faith. Over a scrumptious morning tea, we enjoyed music from Morgan’s newly released album – Final Destination.
