Living Well on the Way Home

Stand Firm in God’s Grace

From 11 October we will be starting a six-week sermon series in the book of 1 Peter, titled Living Well on the Way Home. Peter’s letter, written to early Christians facing trials and uncertainty, is a timeless reminder of God’s grace and our call to stand firm in it

In 1 Peter 5:12, Peter declares:

“I have written briefly, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.”

This verse sets the tone for our series. No matter the trials, the challenges, or the pressures we face, God’s grace and our identity in Christ is sufficient—and it’s the foundation for how we live faithfully every day.

Key Themes in 1 Peter

1. Our Identity in God’s Grace

Peter reminds us that we are God’s chosen people, called to live holy and faithful lives. Recognising our identity in Christ gives us confidence to face life’s uncertainties and difficulties and remain anchored in His grace.

2. Living with Hope

Even amid trials, Peter points us to the imperishable inheritance we have in Jesus. God’s grace sustains us, giving us hope, perseverance, and joy no matter the circumstances.

3. Faith in Action

Grace is not passive—it shapes how we live and love. Peter urges Christians to act with integrity, serve others, and embody God’s love in practical ways. Our daily choices reflect the reality of God’s grace in our lives.

4. Strength in Trials

Following Christ comes with challenges, but God’s grace empowers us to endure. By standing firm in His grace, we grow in spiritual maturity, character, and faithfulness.

Join us as we dive into 1 Peter, discover the true grace of God, and learn what it means to live well while walking with Jesus on the way to joining our Father in heaven.
