How LIT Camp Equipped Me to Lead and Share My Faith
Last week, a group of 20 students from Years 10 to 12 from Soul Revival Church attended LIT (Leaders in Training) Camp at Youthworks Port Hacking Conference Centres. LIT is a leadership and discipleship camp designed to help teenagers grow in their Christian faith, alongside hundreds of other young people who are at a similar stage of life and faith.
Throughout the week, we focused on learning how to love and serve God better, while also developing leadership skills we can use at church and in every day life. Each night we gathered together with the best music - around 450 teenagers praising God in an environment that was welcoming, safe and free from judgement.
One of the biggest highlights for me was making new friends. I met a lovely group of Christian girls who share the same values as me and love Jesus, and we quickly formed strong friendships. We spent time joking around in the pool, running a gathering together, and having real conversations about our lives and faith.
LIT was an incredible opportunity to build meaningful connections, learn practical tips on how to do ministry, and be equipped to confidently share God’s word. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that helped strengthen my faith and encouraged me to step into leadership with greater confidence.
