New Sermon Series Starting This Weekend: God, Why?

As we head into Christmas, we’re really excited to begin our next sermon series. It is called “God, Why?”, you may have seen flyers around or the image on the screen at Church. Over the next few weeks we will ask ourselves some of those big questions that our friends, families, neighbours, work colleagues and school mates often ask about God, faith, Jesus and life now or eternity.

During these weekends heading into Christmas, we will slow down a little, open up God’s word and seriously reflect on these questions. Our hope is to create a space for honest conversation, genuine curiosity, and a deeper understanding of who God is and how He works in our world.

This weekend we will kick of with a question many people often ask: “God, why don’t You make Yourself more clear?”

It is a question that is asked in different ways, for example; “If God is real, why doesn’t He write it in the sky?” or “Why can’t everyone see Him plainly?” Together, we will step through the Bible’s answer to this question and how God has/does clearly, lovingly, and powerfully make himself known to us.

With our new series we hope that it will be helpful for those seeking answers to these questions as well help us engage in helpful discussions when we are asked questions. So as we head into Christmas, this is a great opportunity to invite someone to church. It could be someone who’s asking any of these type of questions, maybe someone who used to go to church, or someone open to exploring faith in Jesus.

Who knows, but a simple invitation could change everything for someone.

Please pray that God would draw people closer to Him as we ask these honest questions and listen to God’s answers.

  • Nov 21-23: God, why don’t you make yourself more clear?

  • Nov 28-30: God, why would I want to go to heaven?

  • Dec 05-07: God, why is there suffering in the world?

  • Dec 12-14: God, why can’t I find peace in my life?

  • Dec 19-21: God, why would you want a relationship with me?
